Many thanks to those of you who were able to join us at Men2Serve last Sunday! Bruce Carter began with a brief reflection on what true 'greatness' consists of. He explained that greatness has nothing to do with ability and everything to do with availability. As such, everyone has been given the opportunity to be truly great.
After that we departed to three job sites where we....
Did home repair for an 84 year old resident of Phoenixville who'd like to remain in his home of many years.
Cleaned out the gutters of a property on behalf of a man who is battling cancer and needs a little help. (but, amazingly, who was able to do some plumbing repair at the home of the 84 year old man!)
Removed carpet pad staples, broken down wooden bookshelves and removed old flooring from the back porch of the Bookworm in prep for our final renovations, making the bookworm a free home for 4 additional local non profit organizations.
Men2Serve is open to any interested man, young, old, single, married, father or not. That is enjoyable enough. Those men who are fathers are often able to bring their sons with them bc Men2Serve affords them quality time between father and son. I've also been impressed by the way that other men are happy and available to encourage, instruct and mentor the next generation as well.
Mark your calendars!
Because of Palm Sunday and Easter holidays, Men2Serve will not meet in April but will resume on the first Sunday in May (May 5th).
Below are some pics from last Sunday that I thought you might enjoy!
All the best,
