So much to say, little room to say it. The renovations are completed on the Non Profit House and we await a certificate of occupancy and grand opening. We continue to accompany many men through life’s peaks and valleys as a means of displaying the shepherding care of Christ inviting them to grow from what is so often a ‘third person’ relationship with Christ to a ‘first person’ relationship with Christ.
This month, however, I’d like to say a great big thank you to an organization that is nothing short of exceptional. It’s called ‘The Thrift Shop’ which is run by volunteers whose mission is to sell donated clothing. All proceeds then are given to a host of local non profit organizations, the Daniel Foundation being but one of many. This year alone, these ladies raised over $50,000. Since their inception, they have raised approximately $850,000! If you are looking for decent clothes at a very good price that will benefit so many, I’d recommend Phoenixville’s Thrift Shop!
I’m delighted to report that The Thrift Shop gave us a generous donation which will be used specifically to allow those cancer patients who are able, (along with a loved one) to attend a local sporting and/or artistic event that they could otherwise not afford. Many of the patients are already stretched thin financially due to their treatments and it has been a dream of mine to ask them, ‘What team or event (or even restaurant) would you love to go see, if you could afford it?’ Thanks to the Thrift Shop I can now do so. Upon learning what they’d love to attend, I can now purchase and then surprise them, with tickets to an event they could otherwise never afford!
I cannot thank the Thrift Shop and so many of you, for the countless opportunities we are given to display, and to speak of, the love of Christ to so many people in so many venues. I may not have the most lucrative job in the world, but I am pretty darn sure it’s the best job in the world! Thank you so very much.
