Community Betterment Award
This has been an especially busy season! For starters, I’m delighted to report that the Daniel Foundation received the ‘Community Betterment Award’ from the Phoenixville Area Chamber of Commerce. This was especially encouraging because it suggests that people understand that our mission is ‘good news’ for our community. A special thanks to both the Chamber of Commerce and Piazza Subaru for making it possible!
Our staff worker, Dave Swenson, here with wife Jill, is off and running with the Daniel foundation in Seattle. Dave recently commented via email:
“I love how tDf has given me the role of shepherd again. I love it. Last night Jill and I hosted a woman for dinner. She has been a single parent for 18 years and raised an 18 and a 22 year old daughter and son. Her journey/story has been sustained by God. I ended up being more encouraged than her, I think! It is great to have this opportunity to do ministry with Jill too.”
The Center for Non Profit Excellence
As you may know, The Phoenixville Hospital has very graciously offered The Daniel Foundation along with 5-6 other small/local nonprofits, a $1.00 per year lease for office space in a historic building, located on the grounds of their property. We couldn't be more grateful to the hospital!
It will be called, ‘ The Center 4 Non Profit Excellence.’ It is a fabulous opportunity in a number of ways. First, ‘The Center’ is located close to downtown Phoenixville which will prove helpful. Secondly, it allows us the opportunity to forge relationships with other small/local nonprofits within which ministry and partnerships might arise.
As always, thank you. Without your prayers and financial support, this mission would not be possible. You are an amazing group!
