What Can You Expect From Us?

Befriending others
Our staff simply befriend men from all walks of life and from every place on the racial, political, cultural and religious spectrum with the hope of:

Encouraging them in their respective vocations & marriages

    Supporting them through life's challenges

Reflecting with them on (mid) life's larger questions

Inspiring them to live more integrated and meaningful lives

Finally, for those who request it, we provide the spiritual direction necessary to help connect, in practical ways, an often theoretical faith of Sunday mornings with the rigors & dilemmas of daily life that come with Monday morning.

Befriending our Community
Daniel partners with other local organizations and business to improve the quality of life in the greater Phoenixville area. Here are a few community initiatives we are involved with:

  • Serving on the Phoenixville Area Social Concerns Committee
  • Serving as a member of the Community Advisory Committee of Phoenixville Hospital
  • Serving as a volunteer chaplain at Phoenixville Hospital
  • Serving as a mentor at The Good Samaritan Shelter for homeless men
  • In partnership with The Message of Hope Foundation, providing scholarships which enable local high school student athletes to attend a summer camp program sponsored by 'The Fellowship of Christian Athletes'
  • Providing scholarships which enable local men and women to audit LEAP Ed. courses at Biblical Theological Seminary

Why does Daniel REALLY wanna have lunch with me?!
A recent study confirmed that most men over the age of 35 could not name one significant friend in whom they can confide. Perhaps this is because everyone seems to have an agenda of one sort or another. Regardless of the cause, many men live lives of quiet isolation. We don't believe that is good because isolation begets many things, most of which are pretty unhealthy. Conversely, the Daniel Foundation believe life's most meaningful experiences and discoveries occur in the context of relationships. For that reason, the Daniel Foundation seeks to cultivate relationships for relationship's sake. Relationships with a hope but not an agenda. While it is true that our staff are animated by historic Christian faith, our hope is that those with whom we journey through life’s various passages would not fear any religious imposition from us. Rather, we hope they'd consider us a trusted friend and a safe haven, where they can discuss whatever is of consequence in their lives, whether it be religious in nature or not. What's more, all that we do is free of charge or obligation. So, the next time a staff member invites you to breakfast, coffee or lunch, relax. The only agenda they have is your agenda....

My philosophy and the philosophy of the Daniel Foundation might be summed up this way: I cultivate relationships with a hope but not an agenda. While I hope the relationships I cultivate will prove spiritually formative, my ultimate concern is faithful friendship with, & practical service to, those with whom I meet.
