What else does Daniel do?In addition to meeting with men, I partner with other local organizations in creating and/or running a variety of local programs designed to better the lives of all who participate. Here are a few of those past and present initiatives. Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) LacrosseIn partnership with the Phoenixville Parks and Recreation Department, I began and administered a summer lacrosse program designed to make available a very expensive sport to any interested child, regardless of their economic means. MENtoring programIn partnership with Message of Hope Foundation founder, Brett Illig, I co-lead a Mentoring Program designed to assist high school athletes to use the power they have to mentor, rather than mistreat, others. FCA ScholarshipAlso in partnership with the Message of Hope Foundation, we offer scholarships to local high school students, who may require financial assistance, so that they are able to attend a summer sports camp sponsored by The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. LEAP Ed. ScholarshipWe offer scholarships to local residents who would like to further their theological understanding and training in ministry by enrolling in a LEAP Ed Course at Biblical Theological Seminary, but who need assistance to do so. Chaplaincy at Phoenixville HospitalI volunteer each week as a chaplain at the Phoenixville Hospital, visiting and praying with patients and their families. BTSI teach a God & Film LEAP Ed course at Biblical Theological Seminary. Good Samaritan ShelterI am presently mentoring a resident at Phoenixville’s Good Samaritan Shelter for homeless men and am developing a curriculum that can be used by other interested mentors. Etc.I am a member of a couple of local committees that, like the Daniel Foundation, exist to better the lives of individual residents of Phoenixville which, consequently, betters the corporate life of our community. |
